final reflection

I liked the look of the Blooms Digital Taxonomy.  In my role of the teachers aide it is not often that I need to prepare work for the students but however I believe that this model allows for more variety and gives children greater choice in their learning and a more 21st century viewpoint. It allows for all types of childrens abilities and strengths.

After watching the video about e-learning I realise that technology is becoming the norm in classrooms and it is good to be kept up to date with the tools that they will be using.

module 10

I have seen a lot of kids using wikis for research, but I think kids need to be better educated and more aware of the fact that the information may not be reliable. I used to be involved in girl guides, and when we had a camp we seemed to have hundreds of phone calls and letters to organise things - wiki's would have made this so much easier.

What role do you see for using Web 2.0 tools in your own life as a learner and a member of online communities.

Throughout the course I have learnt lots of things that I would have never known about and have grown in confidence in using the computer and the internet. I have had a lot of fun setting up my own blog and have surprised myself that I was able to do it and will enjoy changing it around and adding to it in the future.

I have been using my Igoogle account and adding all my little gadgets to my page and currently the proud owner of a little dog called Ruffy!!!!!!! I think that doing this course has brought my up to date with what my kids have been talking about and they have encouraged me to take a greater interest in it. I look forward to further exploring all the things that I have learnt and becoming a more computer orientated person.

Module 9

I really enjoyed learning about scootle and think that in my role as a teachers aide I would be able to use this tool to get the kids excited about learning. I have seen my children using facebook and I can see the advantage for keeping in contact with friends but havn't gotten into it myself yet, but there is always the future. The virtual reality of second life really reminded me of sim city, again I don't know if I would really use it in my role as a teachers aide in the school.

module 8

I have seen the buttons for RSS feeds before but diddn't know what they were but now I know!
After opening a google reader acount I could see that people who used a lot of websites would find this very useful. I am not sure that I would use this very much but as I use more of my web 2 tools that I have learnt maybe I will.

module 7

I have never heard of delicious before but it would be useful to access my favourites on any computer, not just at home but at school or anywhere. While I am still new to this I like the idea of being able to see what other people have put on their computer. I cant believe that 10 weeks ago I didn't know what blogs were and now I am able to comment on a friends blog. It was great to see what some of my colleagues have thought of their web 2 journey.

Module 6

Bubble would be a very good useful tool to help kids organise their work especially projects and assignments. This can be adjusted for every level and I can see myself using this as I work in the classroom.

The first time I saw Glogster was last term and I found it very daunting but now after doing this module I understand it and I am quite excited. I liked the examples that we looked at and would be an interesting way
to present information to children and have them present information to their classmates.

Module 5

This would be very useful for using in the classroom, it would have many possibilities for learning and sharing.
I have already used photostory in the classroom  with great success and I can see myself showing the children how to use clips from u-tube. I have had i tunes on my computer for a while and I now know how to use it.
